Mama Nurture Wellness: Evidence-Based Holistic Care

About:  Hi! My name is Megan Dempsey, BA, IBCLC, CD(DONA), LMT, BCMT, RLC. I am the person behind Mama Nurture Wellness! I am a human and microbial biologist by degree with a background in human nutrition and dietetics. I thoroughly enjoy putting my depth of knowledge to work for conceiving, birthing, and postpartum families. I have two offices in Englewood and also offer services in your home.

I offer numerous services for families. I am an IBCLC and offer lactation consultation, prenatal lactation education, and lactation support groups. I work with new families on solving the mysteries that their babies present to them and develop feeding plans that make sense for you. I am a certified birth doula and provide non-medical childbirth support to birthing families. Birth doulas provide emotional, physical, spiritual, and informational support to birthing families. I am a board-certified massage therapist and, now, focus on prenatal, postpartum, and birthing people and their families. I am advanced practice certified in prenatal, postpartum, and labor support massage therapy, as well as, being a certified NeuroMuscular therapist and have a background in rehabilitative massage therapy. I offer massage therapy for pregnant people in either a face down or side-lying position and am able to vary the pressure to suit your individual needs.

I also offer Birthing From Within childbirth education, a mindful approach to childbirth education in private and small group (2-3 birthing people and their birth partner). Finally, I offer Abuse Survivor Birth Consultations. These consultations are to aid survivors of sexual and physical trauma an opportunity to become familiar with situations that may arise during birth and assess their own level of trauma. Then, together, we can problem-solve ways for survivors to feel in control through during their birth. Survivors can then use this information to write a birth plan to help their medical providers support them in the ways they need during birth.

Tip for new moms:  When scheduling an appointment, choose the location that you would prefer then choose what sort of service you need. I practice at Mountain Midwifery Center, Integrative Pediatric Health Care, and offer appointments in the convenience of your home!

Belly Bliss – Breastfeeding 101

About:  In this class we will discuss breastfeeding benefits and techniques. This class is designed to help parents feel confident and knowledgeable about their decision to breastfeed while providing evidence-based information and skills to promote successful breastfeeding. Some topics that will be discussed include skin to skin, baby led breast feeding, latch, pumping, breast feeding while working, ways to support the nursing mother and much more. It is important that partners attend and hear the information first hand as their support is invaluable to breastfeeding success. It is very helpful for partners to be in the class to help remember and understand how they can support mama and baby!
