Kindred Counseling, PLLC

About:  Hi!  I’m Brittni – I’m a counselor and Love & Logic® facilitator, but you might call me a Heart Healer, Mama Motivator, or Relationship Recharger instead.

Through several years as a therapist, school counselor, Love & Logic parenting facilitator, and mama of three kids, I’ve had the honor of listening to clients’ stories and helping them return to the life they’ve envisioned.  I hold a Master’s in Clinical Counseling & School Counseling, and am a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Counselor Candidate.  I take all the fancy research, theories, and methodologies and use that to help you get unstuck–but to you, it will feel less like theory and more like genuine empathy.  Someone who gets you, someone who is on your side, a kindred connection.

I believe courageous women who take care of themselves can change the world.  It starts with the woman herself, and through her newfound calmness, courage, and confidence, she can be the model she wants to be for her children, raising emotionally resilient kids that champion kindness (to themselves and their world!).

Tip for readers:  The idea of adding one more thing to your to-do list, especially something as nerve-wracking as sitting in an office talking to a stranger, might be a bit outside your comfort zone, and I understand that.  That’s why I offer therapy services in a few ways:

  • in my office in Stapleton
  • in my office in Capitol Hill
  • in your home, giving you the convenience of saving time and money on babysitting costs (plus, I’ve always thought nap time should be used for something for you, which does not include laundry, dishes, or vacuuming).  They say it takes a village to raise a child … and in this case, the village can come to you.
  • Or, we can get out and Walk + Talk, a service I offer that combines the benefits of increased endorphins from exercise with a trained psychotherapist.  If you want to bring baby or Fido along, no problem with me. 🙂  At its core, Walk + Talk therapy is an individual therapy session.  But many clients report the ability to get outside and get moving an added bonus.

Children’s Wellness Center of Colorado, LLC

About:  We provide therapy and parenting support for moms and/or dads struggling with their own trauma. Sometimes birthing can be a traumatic experience. Sometimes the birth of a new baby triggers feelings of inadequacy, relationship difficulties between new parents or symptoms related to past trauma. We have specific expertise in working with victims of intimate partner violence and sexual abuse/assault for parents struggling with those issues. We offer EMDR Therapy. We also provide Synergetic Play Therapy for siblings (age 3-11) having difficulty adjusting to the birth of a new baby.

Tip:  Parenting is hard! It’s so much harder than one can anticipate. Additional stress combined with lack of sleep, postpartum depression and/or triggers from trauma make it that much more difficult. We are here to help. The relationship you form with a therapist is essential to healing. Each therapist has a unique personality and style so if you are interested in meeting us, we offer a 30-minute free consultation to help determine if we’re a good fit for you and your family.

Daniela Abbott, MA, LMFT

About:  I love serving couples and families!  And I have over twenty years of experience in the field.  I am also a married mother of multiples~  so I know firsthand how amazing and overwhelming parenting can be– especially for first-time parents.  Everything, yes everything, changes.

Through wise counsel, and a deeply compassionate, informed approach, I help my clients navigate this transition~  increasing their closeness to each other while bonding with their baby(ies); becoming the partners and parents we want to be; forming relationships with extended family that are safe, supportive, and successful; and offering a calm and caring environment in which you can feel your love deeply, express it safely, and feel loved in return.

Tips for moms:  Finding the right therapist is essential!  After seeking recommendations and visiting their websites, I encourage you to narrow your list to two or three therapists, then meet them in person. Look for someone with whom you feel safe and confident.  Only you will know who feels right for you.  And if you are experiencing post-partum depression and/or anxiety, I also recommend your finding a therapist who will work well with your partner, physician, and any special persons who support you.  Coming together as a team, with both love and education, will help restore you to your happiness, calm, and competence as a new mom.

Kate Daigle Counseling, LLC

About:  I am passionate about helping families navigate body image and self-love during pre-natal, pregnancy and postnatal cycles.  The body changes so much during pregnancy, as well as before and after, which can sometimes be challenging for women and their families.  I offer support, empathy, and guidance on finding acceptance and love for your body in all stages of new parenthood and help them learn how to take care of their bodies in empowering and loving ways.

Tips:  Being a new mother myself, I understand the changes that our bodies and our whole lives go through when having a child.  My tips to a first time client would be to be gentle to yourself, to lower your expectations of what you ‘should’ be doing or looking like, and to be open to the process of change in therapy.
